Celine

Founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana in Paris, France. The luxury brand had started in made-to-measure children’s shoes. Finally, in 1960, the brand had decided to go in a new direction and started to focus on women’s ready-to-wear. Céline had started to produce leather goods, such as bags, loafers, gloves, and garments. In 1964, Céline had created it’s first fragrance, “Vent fou”, and the new collection had gained great success. Céline is dedicated to quality, the decision to open a leather goods factory in Florence, Italy was made. By 1973, the expansion of Céline had begun, with boutiques being opened in various locations, such as Monte Carlo, Hong Kong, Toronto and Beverly Hills. In 1996 the brand had joined with LVMH group, in doing so the brand gained international fame.

By 1997 Michael Kors had joined the French fashion house and brought women’s ready-to-wear as the creative director until 2004. Soon after in 2008, followed British native Phoebe Philo as the new creative director. Phoebe Philo not only brought her ideas to the company, but she made them successful. By doing so, she had won the Designer of the Year award from the British Fashion Council in 2010, and also named International Designer of the Year award in 2011 by Council of Fashion Designers of America. Phoebe was eventually listed in Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2014.

Céline today is known for its timeless bags, such as the Classic Box Bag, Celine Phantom, Celine Trio Pouch, Celine Trapeze Bag, and various others. With Celine totes being one of the most desired bags, they were created with the idea being spacious yet luxurious. Classy, chic and fashionable, Céline has done very well to produce alluring products.
