Translate Bottega Veneta, and in English it translates to Venetian Shop. The Luxury Label was started in 1966 by Michele Taddei, and Renzo Zengiaro, and the brand was distinguished and known for they’re leather goods. Their “intrecciato” braided weaving method is the Bottega signature trademark. Bottega Veneta’s remarkable beautifully crafted products are one of the only products on the market that are logo less, but still recognized by people who enjoy the finer things in life.   The brand soared to new heights in the 1980’s catching the attention of Andy Warhol; he even made a short film to advertise for the Brand.   The label was eventually bought over by the Gucci group who revamped the collection in 2001, under the direction of Tomas Maier. The first collection under Tomas Maier was launched for spring/summer in 2001; he restored the brand, to its distinct original look and feel, reintroducing the original intreccito weave pattern.   In 2006 Bottega Veneta opened a training school, to train fine leatherworkers to sustain their reputation for the upmost highest quality products possible, with their training school Scuola della Pelletteria. Opening this training facility allows Bottega to have the highest regard and quality for there products. Bottega hand selects only the finished leather artisans from there training facility, to hand craft there small leather goods, handbags, shoes, and fine jewelry.
